Liz is from Germany. She could not believe that so many people still think veganism is such a “radical” thing. To her eating meat is not sustainable. Almost 1 billion people on earth go to sleep hungry every night. Meatless Movement recently had the opportunity to chat with her.

She told Meatless Movement that she is anti of unethical things and dairy is one of them. The dairy industry sexually assaults, tortures, manipulates, steals from, and kills sentient beings who have a desire to live just like we do.

Tell us more about yourself, please

My name is Liz and I’m from Germany, Wiesbaden. I’m working as a film producer and therefore traveling a lot. Right now I’m staying in Capetown and am loving the vegan cafes and restaurants.

That was 13 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made

I grew up as a omnivore, but never liked the taste of meat nor fish, that I started being a vegetarian when I was a Teenager. Me being 20 Years Young I thought I’m doing soooo great not hurting animals because I wasn’t eating meat.

Then I watched the film Earthlings – crying, being shocked what humans are doing to animals and that I’m still paying for animals being tortured and killed for my pleasure. I stopped consuming animal products that day. You either approve of violence or you don’t, and nothing on earth is more violent or extreme than the meat and dairy industry.

That was 13 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made.

No meat? No problem! Eating meat is not sustainable

At that time there were no vegan options nowhere. No vegan cheeses or butter or milk alternatives. So when people say it is hard for them to switch to a plantbased diet it’s just funny because we have everything in vegan nowadays and I’m so happy that more and more restaurants and cafes have at least vegan options.

I love Berlin for its vegan food places. My favorite places are 1990 vegan living, secret garden and lias kitchen. If you’re ever in Berlin go check them out!!

How to explain to others you’re vegan

The how is easy when you truly understand the why. Everybody wants to change the world, but nobody wants to change what they eat for breakfast. I don’t eat pigs, chickens or cows for the same reason other people don’t eat dogs or cats . They’re not food. It’s that simple.

How do you feel about being a vegan?

When we open our hearts to the world and others, not knowing what the reciprocation might be, light radiates from within regardless. Never let anyone dim the love and light you have within to share.

I feel the best I’ve ever felt. Veganism isn’t about giving up or losing anything. It is about gaining the peace within yourself that comes from embracing non-violence and refusing to participate in the exploitation of the vulnerable. Nothing is more beautiful than a compassionate heart.
_How would you tell someone who’s not yet vegan/vegetarian to try meatless food? I’ll bring them! I always cook and bake for family, friends and colleagues. When they try it they are surprised it tastes awesome. Also when choosing a restaurant or cafes I always choose vegan food spots.

PROTEIN DEFICIENCY?! The only thing I’m deficient in is vegan friends

Debunking vegan myths

Ohhh there are so many….you can’t build muscles without eating meat. I think the best way to educate is live your best vegan life and show people that you can thrive on a plantbased diet.
_To someone who’s just beginning to go meatless, what is your advice? Strive for progress not perfection! You don’t have to be 100% vegan immediately, do babysteps. Educate yourself, watch earthlings, what the health, cowspiracy, forks over knives, seaspiracy.

Do you recognize when your dog is happy, scared, anxious, in pain, playful? That’s their sentience. The animals you eat have that too

plantpoweredliz

Eating meat is not a personal choice. Nothing that causes so much pain and suffering and takes so many innocent lives, can ever be called a personal choice.

The fact that I have to convince you animals feel pain is the reason I’m fighting. But truth is you already know you just don’t care.
