Priya Bajpai is from India, and a language and literature teacher. She’s also an animal rights activist who raises voice every moment against the atrocities on animals.

Meatless Movement recently had a chat with her.

Priya told us that Freedom is the first desire of every being. We fought countless battles for freedom and ironically, we have always been taking away the freedom of animals.

No matter how talented, rich or intelligent your are, how you treat animals tells me all I need to know about you

Namaste 🙏 my name’s Priya Bajpai. I m from India. I am 30.

I was raised vegetarian. I used to ask why dairy farmers give so many injections to cattles? What are they injecting? People told me that if we don’t remove milk from cattle’s tits they will die. One day I saw a post “milk is murder” by Arvind activist which was tagged to my sister’s facebook by somebody. I understood the cruelty behind dairy. From that day I turned vegan. I am vegan since 6 months.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere

I became more active on social media to spread reality. Lots of people interact with me by seeing my posts. Some understood and became vegan and some are not ready to accept the cruelties of dairy. Because milk is considered auspicious in India.

I also learned about anti natalism, effilism and minimalism. I saw these words in many vegan’s bio. I searched these and became anti natalist and minimalist too.

All living beings have birth right to freedom and right to live

I find no challenge in finding vegan food. I do not take any replacement of meat and milk. I excluded animal products and included fruits in my diet.

I don’t like to eat out because it’s not hygienic. I eat simple, homemade food. In case, if I have to go out, I eat dal – rice, mix vegetable sabzi & chapati (without butter), mushroom baby corn sabzi. Many Indian snacks are by default vegan like pani puri, samosa, upma, vada pav, khaman, dhokla and many more.
I replaced tea with flower teas, milk shakes with juices.

This is the only vegan restaurant in my small town. If you ever happen to visit Daman. I suggest you to try EnviroH‘s vegan food.

You cannot be a feminist and non vegan

I became vegan because of animals. But I benefitted on health grounds too. I feel light weight. I used to always have cough. That problem is completely solved. I noticed visible difference in my skin and hair. My skin became more clear and reduced hairfall. Wish if I was vegan by birth.

I want non vegans to try meatless, dairy free food. For this, I make vegan food and I offer this food to non vegans. In the end I disclose that this was meat and dairy free.

My favorite is nature cooked food. That is fruit. Fruit is ideal and best diet for humans. It has power to reverse even fatal diseases. It saves time. We humans waste more than half of our life in cooking food, washing utensils, digesting that food, planning for varieties.

Humans are conditioned in believing lies about animal products. Most common of them are that vegans are overthinking, these cruelties doesn’t happen in our country. For letting them know the reality I share real footage of meat and dairy. I regularly post videos of vegan activists around the world. I try to reply as many comments as I can. I believe, use of social media is needed for revolution in this technological era.

For someone who’s just begin to go meatless, I would request them to always remember why they choose to be meatless. People always have opinion & free advice when you are on right path. But, remember we cannot please all. Living cruelty free life will evolve you. This will make you love yourself.

Stand up, inform yourself and get active, we are the hope this planet so desperately needs

In the end, I would like to add, if a girl like me who was tea addict (indian milk tea), ice cream addict can be vegan then all can be vegan. Also, do not misunderstand that only rich people can be vegan. I come from lower middle class family.
