Tell us more about yourself, please
Hi there, my name is Lexi Griswold, and I am a content creator who moved from Portland, Oregon to LA three years ago. While living in LA, I began to delve into content creation and found myself thriving in the city’s bustling creative scene. However, this isn’t the only change I made in my life; I also became a vegan two years ago.
Why Did I Turn Vegan?
The environment, my health, and most importantly, the animals are the main reasons why I transitioned to a vegan lifestyle. For years, I had been curious about the vegan lifestyle and what it could offer. I became more aware of the cruel treatment of animals in the food industry and the negative impact animal agriculture has on the environment. Additionally, I was experiencing health issues, and after researching the benefits of a vegan diet, I decided to give it a try. The results were astounding! My mind is clearer, and my body feels fantastic.
Interesting Stories on My Vegan Journey
One of the most intriguing realizations I’ve had since going vegan is how the entire world is brainwashed to think that eating animals is a normal and acceptable thing to do. It’s a revelation that’s made me more conscious and aware of what I consume.
Challenges Faced in Finding Vegan/Vegetarian Food
Finding vegan food can be challenging, especially when you’re out and about or traveling. But I’ve found that it’s not as difficult as it may seem. I never feel the urge to eat animal products because I find it disturbing. People often refer to being vegan as a diet, but to me, it’s a lifestyle, and my basic morals guide me.
How to Encourage Someone to Try Meatless Food
If you’re thinking about going meatless, my advice would be to take it slow and easy on yourself. Over time, your taste buds will adapt, and you won’t miss out on any of your favorite foods. There’s a vegan version of everything that also tastes better and is better for you.
Recommendations for Good Places and Foods
Crossroads is my favorite vegan restaurant in LA, and I also make a mean crunch wrap, which I have a tutorial on my Instagram and YouTube. I share many of my favorite vegan recipes on my Instagram page, @lexigriswold, complete with photos and captions of the dish names.
Misconceptions About Veganism
Some misconceptions about veganism are that it’s only for hippie tree huggers or that you need as much protein as you think you do. The truth is, you can get all the protein and nutrients you need from plants.
I believe that veganism is the future of the world, and I am proud to be part of this change. These animals’ lives depend on us to make a difference and make the planet a better place. If you’re considering going vegan, my advice is to take it one step at a time, be patient with yourself, and remember that the benefits are worth it.
