Growing up on a farm in Tasmania, Australia, Claire developed a profound connection with animals from an early age. This connection laid the foundation for her journey into veganism, a lifestyle she has embraced for over 13 years.
For Claire, being vegan is not just about dietary choices; it’s a philosophy deeply rooted in compassion and a refusal to participate in the deliberate harm of any living creature.
Meatless Movement recently had a chat with her.
Claire reminds us that the journey to health and fitness is unique for each individual. Whether you’re considering veganism, strength training, or both, remember that it’s never too late to start your own journey toward a healthier, happier you.
Tell us more about yourself, please
Hi I’m Claire, I have been vegan for 13 + years and can’t imagine life any other way.
After growing up on a farm in Tasmania, Australia, I always had a strong bond with animals and the thought of deliberately causing any creature harm, especially just for taste, just doesn’t align with me.
Back when I first started it was all hot chips and salads, thankfully we have a lot more options these days! I Have competed in 2 body building competitions both on a vegan diet. I am an online and in person vegan fitness coach, I love seeing how it makes someone feel to take control of their own health and fitness through diet and exercise.
While I aim to eat healthy 80per cent of the time I do love vegan pizza and chocolate!
But my journey wasn’t just about food; it was also a profound transformation in how I viewed fitness and nutrition. Before I discovered the power of strength training, I struggled with misconceptions about body image and nutrition. Like many, I equated thinness with health and happiness, so I focused on consuming very little protein and often restricted my calorie intake.
However, everything changed when I decided to shift my focus from being thin to being strong and healthy. I immersed myself in strength training, a realm I had previously avoided, opting instead for yoga and walking. Through education and dedication, I learned the importance of fueling my body with sufficient protein and calories, and the results were transformative.
Today, I stand as a testament to the power of veganism and strength training to sculpt a fit, lean, and toned physique. But beyond the physical changes, this journey has been about reclaiming control over my body and understanding what truly nourishes me, both inside and out. Through my coaching, both online and in person, I aim to empower others to embark on their own journey toward holistic well-being.
In sharing my story, I hope to debunk myths surrounding veganism and fitness, emphasizing the importance of balance, education, and self-compassion.
Whether you’re considering adopting a vegan lifestyle, embracing strength training, or both, remember that the journey is uniquely yours to navigate. It’s never too late to prioritize your health, happiness, and empowerment.
