Karolina’s distinctive journey encompasses a mere two years during her time in the UAE. Despite this relatively brief period, her life weaves a tapestry of diverse cultures and culinary adventures. While she spent the majority of her life in the Czech Republic, notably in the enchanting city of Brno, she also resided in China for two years and Los Angeles for one year. This unique trajectory has intertwined an array of cultural influences and gastronomic explorations. Karolina’s path ultimately guided her to the captivating landscapes of Abu Dhabi, UAE, where she has chosen to make her home in recent times.

One intriguing facet of Karolina’s life is her conscientious decision to adopt a meatless lifestyle, a commitment she has steadfastly upheld for over five years. Remarkably, this choice was not a recent one; Karolina’s aversion to meat was a sentiment that took root in her formative years and matured as she did.

Meatless Movement had the opportunity to chat with her recently.

What sets Karolina’s journey apart is her profound love for animals, which serves as the cornerstone of her dietary choices. For her, the very idea of consuming the creatures she adores is abhorrent. This deep-seated compassion has not only influenced her eating habits but has also shaped her worldview, driving her to align her actions with her values and opt out of the conventional consumption of animals.

In Karolina’s story, we find more than just a dietary preference; we discover a narrative of empathy, compassion, and a conscious effort to make a positive impact on the world around us. Her journey reminds us that our choices can be powerful expressions of our innermost values, and Karolina stands as a testament to the transformative potential of such choices.

Please tell us more about yourself

Hello, my name is Karolina. I’m originally form Brno, Czech Republic, but I’ve been staying in Abu Dhabi, UAE for a few years now.

I’ve been meatless for over 5 years. I never wanted to eat meat I hated it growing up.

I love animals and the thought of eating them is horrible.

I’m on my way to become a vet surgeon, so I couldn’t even imagine the thought of eating one type of animals and saving others.

karolina

That’s just not how it works. I also generally believe it’s extremely unhealthy to the human body, since it’s not natural and meant to happen. I used to get really sick, after consuming meat, and I hated that. That’s why a meatless diet is something I highly recommend.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that a certain diet, or heathy choice is boring. When in reality it really depends on how you go about it.

Food can be fun and delicious in all forms. Especially in today’s society it’s super easy.

From the beginning it will always be a challenge to start a change but as time goes on it becomes extremely easy.

There still will be challenges don’t get me wrong, but it’s easier to adapt. One thing I’d recommend is surrounding yourself with friends and people in general who either except you the way you are, or are also meatless. That makes it a lot easier to go out, and actually enjoy the food.

A nice thing to do is either ask the waiter what the best selling vegan/ vegetarian dish is, or look it up ahead. You’ll definitely need to get in the habit of double checking that there really isn’t any meat present, because I’ve seen people use bacon as “decoration” and so on.

karolina

I of course have my go to places and meals that I would eat, or go to. The truth is what works for me might not work for someone else and that’s perfectly fine as well.
