My name is Maria based in Dublin , Ireland and I am the owner of this amazing page called @greenveganie. I started this journey called @greenveganie in August 2020.

It was a wonderful way to share my knowledge with so many people in the same time. I am at the base Vegan Nutritionist and studied Ayurveda, probably you are wondering why Ayurveda ? but I will let you know soon why.

Gratitude turns what we have into enough

greenveganie

I was diagnosed with endometriosis, that was the time when I decided that I have nothing to loose if I am going on this road , trying the vegan diet. It was the best decision that I ever made. It was the time when I started to study on myself the impact that vegan diet may have on endometriosis. this is the time when I study Ayurveda and when I started to research and try different food combinations.

I started with vegetarian diet for 4 years and then I switched to vegan diet for 7 years. I am extremely happy that I made this move.

I feel amazing inside and outside, as I already mention above being vegan it was the best decision i ever made. Most people will say that I don’t want to try this diet because i can get fat or because I don’t get enough nutrients in my body but this is not the case.

See also  I love being vegan. My body feels great, I’m healthier, it’s an eco-friendly diet, and I think there’s so many creative things I can cook and eat with this diet.

As you can see on my @greenveganie page being vegan is fun , you can be creative and get every single nutrient that your body will need. So don’t waste your time, get a professional and start today this amazing journey, you are deciding today for now and for your future.

How to persuade someone to try a meatless diet?

I will definitely give them my example and give them a meal plan to start, to start for a month. It is super easy when you have someone to support your journey, someone by your side when you struggle.

Save this recipe for a rainy day and you won’t be disappointed

I prefer to cook at home, the meals are nutritious and easy to make, see my page @greenveganie. Let me share one of my favorite recipes with you.

Pasta with milk and pears

Pasta with milk and pears

  • 1, 1/2 cups water
  • 2, 1/2 cups Pasta
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • goji
  • cinnamon
  • pear
  • walnuts
  • In a large pot bring 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil.
  • once water boils, pour in all the milk and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally (about 12 min)
  • Milk will get really foamy, keep stirring until milk bubbles then quickly add in the pasta & salt and boil over med-low heat for 7-8 minutes.
  • When pasta is al dente, add the sugar stir and remove completely from the heat.
  • Serve warm with pears, goji, walnuts and cinnamon

What are the biggest misconceptions people have about you because of your vegan or vegetarian lifestyle?

  1. “you don’t get enough protein” really guys? Well let me tell you a few sources of vegan protein, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts, cashews, almonds pistachios, pecans, avocado, nut butters (like almond, peanut or cashews, oatmeal, tahini, quinoa, chickpeas, broccoli, spinach, kale, sweet potato, lentils , beans and that’s a clean source of protein.
  2. “Do you ever miss meat?” well guys you will definitely miss meat, but just until your body will get used to this new lifestyle. But to be honest you have so many options out there that you will never miss meat.

If you want to start this journey here are a few tips to get you on the road :

  • you don’t have to make the switch at once.
  • read your food labels
  • it won’t cost more
  • be prepared when your friends and family will ask questions (best answer from my point of view is : “i am going vegan for my own reasons and so far seams like it’s working”)
  • you’ll need a B12 supplement*Omega 3 supplement
  • D3 supplement in some cases iron
  • if you are concerned about calcium , well guess what plants are here to help you 😉
  • if you are concerned about protein, just check out my protein list above
