Do you feel that? Christmas music, sparkly lights and sales everywhere! Its Christmas time yet again.

I decided to indulge my taste buds in a Traditional Greek Cuisine at Blu Kouzina. You best bet, the restaurant is all decked out to feed and enhance your Holiday mood with festive decorations and sounds. The menu is Vegetarian and Allergy friendly, making one spoilt for choices.

I had dinner with a friend and we went all out! Starting off with Tirokafteri Dip, a spicy feta dip infused with herbs and chilli flakes. We got a side of warm grilled Pita bread. The dip was irresistibly creamy and the spice kick did justice to the whole appetizer experience. The pita bread was as soft as a pillow making it so easy to spread the dip and savour every bite.

Craving a savoury pastry dish, we ordered the Spanakopita, a phylo pastry filled with spinach, leeks and feta. The dish was topped with what looked like rosemary, amplifying the taste sense. This is was ‘Oh, so gooood!”. The texture was flaky on the outside yet warm and creamy on the inside. I could seriously eat this everyday. It was truly tough to stop at just one serving.

My friend was intrigue by the Halloumi dish called Talagani. It was Greek Halloumi Cheese drizzled with Blu Sauce. I would say I was pleasantly confused by the taste of this. It did expand my palate. We’re still questioning what went in the blu sauce. The cheese taste was a little strong for me. I am glad to have tried it. Perhaps, having it with a side of Pita would have helped to balance the sharp taste of Talagani. I do have to say, I was thoroughly impressed by the presentation and plating of this dish. It does give off a rather exquisite vibe.

The only main we ordered was Gemista. It was a pepper filled with marinated rice and potatoes. It was my second time having this main. I loved the warmth of this dish. The rice was soft, not mushy and tasteful. The pepper was delicate and could easily be split into two portions. This is one filling main and it will leave a smile on your face.

My experience at Blu Kouzina was glitzy which was magnified by the Holiday ambience. The staff were friendly and possessed great knowledge on the menu items and were patient to give us their recommendation taking into account dietary preferences. I already miss my time in Blu Kouzina. It is a great place to celebrate with friends and family. This place caters to varying dietary needs. Be sure to make a reservation before you go! You will be pleased you did! And while you’re there, check out the charming Christmas lights on Dempsey Roa
