Tell us more about yourself, please
Hi I’m Wendy originally from the Netherlands. Change to meatless was the last effort I did after I tried all possible alternative health modalities. It helped me to get back enough fun in my life to travel the world. Try the VAN-life, and finally living in Spain at the Mediterranean beach.
Picture a bright morning in June. A young mother, exhausted and in tears, faces the stairs. Pain and a deficient body had taken their toll. Experts warned her that crossing her pain threshold would mean permanent damage. A wheelchair loomed.
This was her reality, with a one-year-old baby. What would you do? Baby awake, crying and cold, stairs ahead. She collapsed.
Yet sitting defeated, something stirred up deep inside, and she became more determined than ever.
Her journey began long before. Chronic issues from youth – inflammation, fatigue, allergies – whispered “unfixable.” But she believed in a higher power – the Universe, the soul, nature. They held the key to healing.

It turns out a vegan lifestyle is not only better for the planet and animals, it is also better for our bodies. Eating mostly living fruits and vegetables has turnout out to cost less digestive energy.
This lead me to need less sleep during the night and feeling more energized during the day.
Cravings
By having a great balance to add nuts, seeds and herbs in my meatless life I’ve found cravings to disappear. Due to the fact that I am getting all nutrition in.
Social Connection
Going out socially and being meatless in The Netherlands turned out to be super easy! Vegan and vegetarian restaurants are popping up all over the place! From Vegan-Fastfood places, to high cuisine and even Raw Vegan places, the choices are unlimited.
To find others and get the social connection that I craved. I’found others by organizing potlucks, and ended up even doing a dutch fruit festival. http://www.dutchfruitfestival.nl
Favorite Meals
At home I enjoy mostly NICECREAM, and a variety of salads. My favorite salad dish is Tricolore Noodles with Sweet Red Sauce. A really good second is Spicy Curry Wraps, and well, it’s just hard to choose from the rest. I love experimenting with food and created a ton of new and familiar flavours to enjoy with my family.
As for snacks, I love filled medjoul dates, but also a cake every now and then. I added a few photo’s from my favorite dishes I made in my first year!

Then replace your meat with vegan alternatives. They are absolutely delicieus. For long term success, educate yourself on healthy vegan food, and surround yourself by like minded people!
