Krys has been a vegan for over two decades, and her family shares this lifestyle with her. Her two teenage sons have been raised on a meatless diet, and we have found it to be both fulfilling and healthy.

Although transitioning to a vegan lifestyle in Texas was simple for her, as she was never fond of meat, it was a decision that came after a profound experience. Losing a rescue pet opened her eyes to how animals are treated and the tireless efforts of rescue groups to save them. This realization led her to make the switch and commit to a plant-based diet.

Meatless Movement recently had a chat with her.

I’ve been vegan for over 20 years. We are also a vegan family. We raised our boys now teens on a meatless diet. The transition from meat to no meat while living in Texas was easy for me. I was never a big fan of meat growing up. I think the turning point for me was the loss of a sweet rescue pet I had. I’d seen how animals were treated and how rescue groups worked so hard to save these sweet, defenseless creatures.

Living in Texas, we had a wonderful garden. Raising our boys and teaching them where their food came from was a lovely lesson. Our boys have a diverse diet when it comes to fruits and veggies. They also love nut based cheeses and meats made from different types of legumes and nuts.

Since becoming vegan I have honestly not missed eating meat. I love sharing vegan recipes and creating good meals. I have a Tik Tok and Instagram food and fitness page. It’s all about being vegan and keeping yourself healthy. The page is: veganfoodandfitnessinbuffalo.

Tacos. I made a pecan & walnut meat, added a chipotle pesto, dandelion greens, refried beans, & a chipotle salsa. Oh, and of course avocado.
Lovely kale salad with yellow rice, and seasoned soy chunks. Simple yet oh so tasty

For real! I’m here to help, motivate, and inspire

I love helping others. I work in special education, working with students with developmental disabilities. I love to workout and help in that aspect as well. It’s all about progress not perfection.

For those looking to try the vegan way of life, there’s so many wonderful pages with delicious recipes and tips. Vegan food has come a long way. Twenty years ago, the yogurts and cheeses were very limited, and not so tasty. Now, they’re all a hit. Try it. You’ll like it!

Stop by my page and say “hi”.

One love.
One planet.
Go vegan.
