With a heart dedicated to defending animals, Christine expresses her unwavering beliefs through powerful statements such as “meat is murder” and “no animal wants to die.” Her journey into the world of veganism is not just a lifestyle choice but a conscious decision to stand against cruelty.

Christine’s commitment goes beyond words; she actively engages in her mission by spending time at places like @hopefieldanimalsanctuary, where she envisions a world where all animals can live in peace. Her participation in the Animal Rights March in London reflects her dedication to the cause on a broader scale.

A central theme in Christine’s message is the plea to recognize that “Animals are not food”, a sentiment echoed in her call for others to leave animals alone and off their plates. Advocating for the voiceless, Christine emphasizes that no animal desires a premature end and urges everyone to speak up for animals, to be their voice, and to fight for them always.

In a world where veganism is sometimes misunderstood, Christine clarifies that it’s not about forcing a lifestyle onto others but, rather, about ending the imposition of human choices on innocent animals.

Christine stands as a beacon of compassion and a relentless advocate for a world where animals are not seen as food but as fellow beings deserving of respect and kindness.

Meat Is Murder

Christine

My name is Christine, I am 44 and live in Berlin, Germany.

Apart from being vegan being straightedge is really important to me.

So I turned vegetarian aged 12. My brother and I rescued a rabbit from slaughter; a breeder said the rabbit’s ears were too long for its breed ( I mean WTF) , our neighbour told us about it and my brother and I went to the breeder and offered him our pocket money for the rabbit so it wasn’t going to get sent for slaughter.

The rabbit ( we called him Seppl) became a much loved family member and eventually passed away of old age. As soon as Seppl moved in with us I asked my mum why we eat some animals and other animals are being kept as pets. I turned vegetarian pretty much overnight and everyone used to think this was just gonna be a phase.

Christine

Well it wasn’t 😉 .. I turned vegan in 2012 and I truly wish I had done so sooner, drinking cows milk or eating eggs just seems so wrong to me now.

I really do not like sitting at the table with people who eat meat, it just goes against everything I stand for. To sit there and watch other people eat the flesh of innocent animals is just too much. I will ask people I share a meal with if they could not have meat when they eat with me.

How do you feel about being a vegan?

oh my god, I am so passionate about veganism and animal rights! In the past I sometimes used to keep quiet out of fear to offend people now I am much more confident in fighting for animal rights and standing up for veganism

Everything you eat you can still eat when you are vegan!

There are so many vegan options these days, even for fast food and snacks like ice cream. No one had to suffer for your meal and it’s much better for your body not to be a graveyard.

The best city for vegan food is New York! I love Screamers Pizza, Wild Ginger, Jaja Mexicana, dunwell Donuts.

No animal wants to die

People always think all vegans are skinny 🤣 yes we do eat plenty of vegetables but also there are so many vegan treats like cakes or ice cream! I am also known for leaving leaflets about how cruel the meat and dairy industry is in the staff room, doctors waiting area or public transport. Oh and I hate when people label vegans extreme!! You eat the flesh and wear the skin of a dead animal and you call vegans extreme?!?

Christine

To someone who’s just beginning to go meatless, what is your advice?

Vegan makes you look young

Christine

Do it!!! The only thing you will regret is not having it done sooner.

I have a kidney condition and when my doctor asked me about my diet and I said I was vegan he was delighted! He said animal proteins were toxic for my kidney so a plant based diet is perfect for me. I am also responsible for other people turning vegan, my husband is vegan now, my parents are vegetarian, and a couple of people have reached out on instagram saying my posts and stories made them rethink meat and dairy consumption.
