Thai Basil Tofu is one of my favourite Thai foods and it is actually very simple to cook. I like adding Shitake Mushrooms and OmniMeat, giving more textures to the taste. Here is my simple protein-packed recipe using my homegrown Thai Basil.

Ingredients

  • 1 big Firm Tofu also known as Tau Kwa (diced)
  • 1/2 pack Veg Mince Meat (OmniPork)
  • 2 Big Shitake Mushrooms (diced)
  • 1 big Chilli (sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Thai Basil
  • 1 thumb size Old Ginger (Finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil

Sauce:

  • 1/2 tbsp Black Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Mushroom Powder
  • 2 tbsp Water (Adjust to needs)

Instructions

  1. Heat up frying pan and fry Shitake Mushrooms until fragrant. Remove and set aside.
  2. Fry Firm Tofu with 1 tbsp of Cooking Oil until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add more oil and fry the Old Ginger until fragrant.
  4. Stir in Veg Mince Meat, followed by Firm Tofu, Shitake Mushrooms and Chilli.
  5. Stir in the sauce and mix well.
  6. Add in the Thai Basil and continue to fry for around 5min.
