As someone who has struggled with digestive issues and weight management, she decided to give veganism a try. Hayden-Marie’, a 33-year-old mother of two, and new to the plant-based lifestyle. Despite being new to veganism, she’s already loving the positive changes she’s seeing in herself and her kids.
Meatless Movement recently had a chat with her.
Tell us more about yourself, please
My name is Hayden-Marie’ (33). I am new to veganism, but so far I’m overall loving it.
I have no more digestive issues and I’m actually losing a little weight. My kids love it too! I noticed my kids actually having more protein in their diet where we’ve gone vegan versus our old diet of omnivorism.
Safe to say, I believe they have the same digestive issues that I have. It has yet been determined what those issues truly are with any testing that is out there. We know it works so we’re going with it!
Sometimes it’s tricky finding restaurants that offer vegan alternatives. If there are restaurants that offer vegan alternatives then they are priced higher than non-vegan options. Most foods you can make with a processor (including but not limited to vegan alternative steak and deviled egg).
Where I’m still new I’m kind of lazy with it all and get a lot of frozen pre-made vegan foods such as a vegan alternative for chicken which is completely amazing.
I noticed many people getting confused with veganism and vegetarianism
It is important to stay consistent with the lifestyle change. Otherwise wouldn’t really be a vegan anymore would you?
Being a vegan means you eat no meat, no animal products whatsoever. So vegans for example, don’t eat fish. They don’t eat eggs. They don’t eat honey. They don’t have any dairy products. There are plenty of alternatives out there and more are continuously being created the more popular veganism becomes.
Being a vegetarian you’re strictly just prohibiting meat consumption. So no fish and no red meats. You can still have eggs and honey and any dairy product.
