Georgina is a compassionate individual who feels deeply disturbed by the cruel treatment of animals. She believes that every living being deserves respect and kindness, yet she witnesses too many instances of animal abuse and neglect in today’s world.
Recently, she saw a video of a crawfish being boiled alive, and it made her question the morality of consuming animal products. To Georgina, the senseless killing of an innocent creature for a fleeting moment of pleasure is simply not worth it.
She believes that choosing a vegan lifestyle is a powerful way to reduce the amount of cruelty to animals in the world. By refraining from consuming animal products, wearing their fur or skin, and boycotting entertainment that uses animals for profit, Georgina hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of animals.
Her passion for animal welfare serves as an inspiration to others to consider the impact of their actions on the world around them.
Meatless Movement recently had the opportunit to chat with her.
Please tell us more about yourself
My name is Georgina I’m from Durham in U.K. . I am a first time mother and a bunny mom to two bunnies( great pets for vegans when they are herbivores).
I was raised practically vegetarian and been in and out of being vegetarian until i realised 4 years ago the horrible things that happen in the dairy and egg industry after watching a video of joey carbstrong and went vegan over night along with my partner who also went vegan from being a meat eater after watching game changers.
I feel great being vegan morally and health wise too it benefits everything the animals, your health and climate change.
Finding vegan food has been easier then ever since veganuary has been around! You can get vegan food in most places and make vegan version of your past favourites ( I’ve been making vegan fried eggs recently) and the only time I have struggled to have vegan food was when I was at family meal and the pub only had chips as the vegan option but I like chips (chips are a vegan’s best friend).
Can you share some commonly held misunderstandings regarding vegans and vegetarians
They think you can’t get protein or vitamins from being vegan but you can get all of those being vegan even more so, protein is in tofu, beans etc and vitamins are in all fruits and vegetables if you are worried you could take a vitamin b12 and D supplement.
Just throw yourself into it and try all different flavours, all different plant milks because everyone has a favourite plant milk! Mine is Soya milk and dare I say it I’m not a fan of oatly but many people are.
Go vegan it’s great! Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks or says. Just try choosing a vegan option the next time you eat somewhere and see what you think.
