Eleonora is an Italian content creator and a cook who lived in London for a couple of years and now lives in the Midlands.

Other than that, she teaches singing at The Rock Project in Northampton and sings in a Rock band.
Food enthusiast since she was a child, she literally lives for it! Meatless Movement recently had the opportunity to chat with her.

She told Meatless Movement that the best way to convince meat eaters to try vegan food is to invite them over, cook for them and make them try.

Please tell us more about yourself

I am from Italy but lived in England since 2013.

It has been a very long and bumpy road. I started eating less meat once or twice a week about in 2010 and now it is 2022 and still I am not a 1000% perfect Vegan but trying to be.

I started mainly for my health then with this Climate change topic always on, I have decided to to my part for the environment and the animals The more you go on with the Vegan diet, the more you feel a deep connection to nature and animals and start to detach yourself from the classic view that humans are the dominant species.

Being from Italy it is difficult to be 100% vegan everytime I go back. The Mediterranean diet is rich in vegetables and fruit but it some dishes like lasagne are very traditional still (even if they can turned very easily vegan) so everytime I go back my mum tries to feed me something that is not Vegan and I am not gonna ask her to cook specific food for me when I am there. And she is always upset about it ahah!

Challenge yourself, always.
It will make you feel uncomfortable, highly uncomfortable at first.
But you are gonna be so glad about it after that

When I started it was a miracle to find even some vegetarian burgers honestly. And usually were the ones filled with veggies which are ok but how far we are now from those ones?!

Eating out with friends I always have to make sure they have vegan options but if really really really there is nothing I will go for Vegetarian (but always prefer to not consume anything that is not Vegan though. The more I go on, the more I am becoming strict).

I feel good knowing I am helping the environment, I am not harming anyone and my health is great!

All Vegan, all Delicious!

Here in England there are plenty of places where to eat Vegan. I love a little restaurant in Stratford Upon Avon called Plantarium cafe’, beautiful place, amazing people and tasty food both for vegan and vegetarians. Try always to go to indipendent places but if you really are on a strict budget, Wetherspoons have some pretty cheap Vegan food too!

Vegan food is boring and tasteless?

I would make people try my recipe for Vegan Pulled pork or my Vegan Seitan steaks or some of my curries, they would change their mind in a sec!

Take it slow, don’t go Vegan overnight. It took me more than 10 years and still I am not perfect. Step by step is the best way. and experiment, A LOT!

I am a very curious person, especially when it comes to food. But I have step by step discovered that honestly ANYTHING can be made vegan, even the most traditional NON VEGAN Italian food! Come take a look to my INstagram and you will see what I mean.

Thanks for this opportunity! Please remember to help us little Vegan creators grow, like our post, share them, tag us if you tried our recipes. It helps us and will give us a boost of confidence and push us to try to do better and better!
